Wendy and I went to Besancon on Saturday.
I was driving, as we got to the outskirts
of the town there was a toll booth.
I put the window down and the young lady
in the booth asked for 6.50. I gave her a
note and with the change she said in French
'Have a nice day' (Wendy translated later).
I answered 'bonjour'... and drove off.
It was only when I gathered speed that I
thought of what I had said.
I very nearly crashed the car down the verge
we were laughing so much. Talk about Del boy.
Must get some sovereign rings when I get back
to London.
