Is it possible ?.

I wondered this morning, is it possible to be attracted to someone you have never met ?. When you go to a chat site and are madly typing in messages, waiting for the reply, can you're feelings be roused ?. Can a connection be made ?. I know that when you see someone a certain spark can light, when you hear someone's voice on the phone, there can be a little "wow". So can that happen with no physical presence at all ?. I am of a mind that the answer is yes, it can happen. Someone can enter your mind and run around flicking all the little switches from off to on, and the little gauges where the needles had been on zero start to move...... who was it who invented the internet ?. If I ever meet him I will buy him a very large drink. I think he's British which is nice.............

I think the answer is a definite yes, Martin! I have thoughts about all the various bloggers who interact with me...there's this invisible thread running through all our lives. Some bloggers are gardeners like me, others I blog with because they inform me about what's happening in a particular city, or it may be a political blog, or what they write makes me laugh...and that's worth a lot. Some make me think I'd like to have a glass of wine with, others a coffee, and others a glass of champagne!

Yes of course it can happen..and it does a lot. Petite Anglaise met her lover through her blog - the initial attraction was because of their written words.

I met my ex-boyf through my blog too - and again it was words and attitude that drew us together. And the reality was even better than the cyber person.

Words get into places where other things cannot -they find all the hidden, hairline cracks in our minds and settle in quietly.

So yes - if I met the people who opended us this new world to me, I would crack open the best bottle of champers.

Wildlife gardener.. I would love a glass of chilled wine in your wonderful garden and then wander inside to see your latest paintings. If I may be so bold ?.

Wendz, You are quite right, I met my last Girl F on the net. I am sure that the written word does indicate the true chracter of the person, and yes words do settle quietly on the surface and then soak in to the mind......... o mighty internet, we bow before thee.

Martin, We spend half the summer drinking wine in the garden...everyone and their dog drops by, and I love the company and the chat. (housework's very overrated!) The latest painting is of Aslan, the lion who is the hero of the Narnia stories. That may not interest you but I love animals, especially the Big Cats. Usually it's tigers I'm painting. Sometimes it's portraits, sometimes flowers, usually in watercolour, sometimes in pastel. If you are interested in looking at any of them, my email address is

My son and daughter-in-law met on the internet. It was love before first sight. And they are perfect for each other.

Oh yes! Words alone can reveal intellect, humor, a positive attitude, playful spirit, likes and dislikes. Words can be very seductive!

Jilly Looks can get in the way, it is better to get to know someone through the written word.

em, I like that, words can be seductive. Fingers crossed !.

We think so as well - you can get a good insight of people's senses of humour and personalities from their bloggy scribblings, and it's the personality and intellect that attracts the most for us.

Although it helps if they have very long legs and their father owns a brewery!

Agreed. Although the perception one builds up in the mind, the self inflection and humour we attribute can come crashing down when we get to know the wizard behind the words.
Just saying.....
