Hell in a handbag.....

I am so fed up. Yesterday our Prime Minister told
us that there will be the same security measures put
in place at railway stations as at airports.
So that means queues to have your bags x rayed and your
shoes in a tray, when you want to go for the day to Brighton.
Further measures include making new buildings terrorist proof.
As far as I can see we are going to be living like
this for ever more.

What will be next, all Sainsbury's to be built underground ?.
Buildings with no windows ?.

They are also putting up more cameras, with new software that can
track you on your journey.

So have the terrorists won ?. I think so. The police walk around
the city carrying automatic weapons. There are bollards everywhere.
All this is taken in by peoples brains, and just makes the fears
more real. If the mad people want to blow something up,they will
just choose another target. One that is not protected.
I once asked a policeman outside New Scotland Yard, who was standing
there with a machine gun, what he was doing, did he think that the
terrorists would run along with a bomb, fuse fizzing like in the cartoons.
And he would shoot them, and all would be well. He did not see the funny side.
He was there to be seen not by terrorists, but by people walking out
to get lunch. To amplify the message'We are under attack".

I cannot help but think that there is another agenda at work.
Slowly we are having all the freedoms that we took for granted taken
away. As someone said 'We are sleep walking into a police state'.
Or as Hermann Goering said
“Naturally the common people don't want war; neither in Russia, nor in England, nor in America, nor in Germany. That is understood. But after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine policy, and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is to tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.”
